Carla Campos is a third-year PhD student in the Environmental Engineering program at Pennsylvania State University and a visiting student at SPIA at Princeton University, where she works under the guidance of Dr. Wei Peng. She previously earned a Master’s in International Affairs with a concentration in Data Analytics and Energy Policy at Pennsylvania State University. Carla’s research integrates policy design and computational modeling to address climate change and energy challenges. She specializes in using integrated assessment models to evaluate climate mitigation strategies, analyze federal and subnational policies, and conduct air quality and health impact assessments. Her interests include understanding the distributional impacts of energy policies and exploring the spatial and demographic patterns of air pollution and health outcomes under different policy and technological scenarios. Last year, she published her first paper, "Designing Retirement Strategies for Coal-Fired Power Plants To Mitigate Air Pollution and Health Impacts," in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.
